I'm a fine art photographer who creates enchanting and enduring images by combining the perfection of nature with the beauty of human connection.
I am a Polish-born Brit based in Scotland, who has been living in the UK for over 20 years and working as a professional photographer since 2019. I live in Edinburgh but have photographed families from all over the globe.
Photography has always been an integral part of my life – I use my camera and my curiosity to find beauty, joy and love in unexpected places. My photographic journey started when I was just 12 years old with my absolute fascination for plants and nature. My first camera, which used to belong to my grandfather, was a classic Soviet 35mm fixed lens piece of kit – with an exquisite handmade leather case – which I remember in detail to this day. I started out as a self-taught nature photographer, and in more recent years my work has been featured in exhibitions by the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
Becoming a portrait photographer was not something I ever planned, but a few years ago I discovered that photographing people brings me even greater joy than photographing flora and fauna. Documenting family stories and eternalising our happiest moments is what really matters to me most as an artist, and I bring this passion to my photographic sessions with clients.
My Brand Promise
Enchanting and enduring images that capture your most precious moments
I set up Monagraphs to combine two types of photography that are really close to my heart – personal portraits and the natural world. I create magical and dreamlike portraits of people immersed in nature, to give every family treasured and timeless photographs that can be cherished for many generations to come.
Photography has always been my passion, and I run my business alongside my day job. I am an intelligence analyst and criminologist by trade and a photographer by heart. For me, photography is a form of artistic expression, rather than a job, and I set out to give all my clients a VIP experience where no two photoshoots are ever the same. I create unique sessions for every family, which are carefully planned in terms of location, lighting, outfits, storytelling narratives and natural surroundings.
I specialise in fine art photography, which means I do not document what the camera sees, but rather I create imagery that reflects my creative and artistic vision. I am inspired by classical paintings from Dutch masters to French impressionists, as well as by literature and fairy tales. Nature is my canvas and my inspiration; I seek out colours and patterns with which to create beautiful compositions with unusual backgrounds and textures to create photos that look like paintings.
